CONNECT GROUPS
DON’T DO LIFE ALONE

We are better together.  We believe the most meaningful times in life are when we are meaningfully connected to God and others!

CIRCLES ARE BETTER
THAN ROWS

Here at Hope City Church we believe that the church should be growing larger and smaller at the same time! Connect Groups have one, simple purpose: to bring people together. We believe God created us to live in relationship with others and only then can we live the full life He intends for us.

Whether it’s through sermon discussion, serving your neighbors and city, or sharing a common interest in a hobby or sport, we encourage everyone to join a connect group and begin growing in their relationship with God and His church. Many groups meet weekly for 6-13 week seasons, while some meet continuously.

WHY JOIN A GROUP?

We believe that real life-change happens in a community. We are not made to do life alone. That’s why we gather in Connect Groups where we can get comfortable, share, invest, and grow.
God uses intimate connections with other people as catalysts for change — in us, in our relationships with Him and others, in our families, and in the world.

COMMON QUESTIONS

WHAT HAPPENS AT CONNECT GROUP?

A connect group looks like friends at lunch, teams playing basketball, or people studying a book or topic of interest. At its core, a connect group is a small gathering of people, and it is less about what you do and more about who you do it with. By participating in a connect group, you can expect to connect with others through a common activity, engage in life giving conversation and request prayer.

HOW OFTEN DOES A CONNECT GROUP MEET?

Some groups meet weekly, while other meet bi-weekly. We understand that life is busy, and life happens. This is up to each individual group.

WHERE DO CONNECT GROUPS MEET?

Connect Groups meet in homes, parks, restaurants, coffee shops and office buildings. The leader of the group selects a meeting spot that best fits the purpose of the group.

HOW LONG DOES A TYPICAL CONNECT GROUP MEET?

Most connect groups meet for a semester. This way, new people can join groups easily and regularly. Also, the semester format allows you to try multiple groups each year. As relationships form, some groups choose to stay together for consecutive quarters, but new members are always welcome.

IS THERE CHILDCARE AVAILABLE?

Childcare varies from group to group. When you search our directory for a group, the group profile will indicate if childcare is available.

WHAT IF I DON’T LIKE THE FIRST GROUP I TRY?

The truth is, not everyone will find the best fit with the first group they try. This is why we encourage you to select a few groups that interest you, contact the leaders and try out a couple different groups before choosing the best one for you. The simple strategy to finding success in small groups is to not give up. We believe there is a group that is right for everyone—including you!
